Alumni Dinner at Belle Oaks Barn

The deeply rooted legacy of

Brooker Elementary Jr High

School goes back to 1910. Hugh

Butler Crosby purchased the

Grover and Nora Sapp house and

founded a community supported

school. It was located in the

Bloxham Street area of Brooker off

SR 235A.

The school was relocated to an

impressive new structure in the

early 1920’s. It had office space,

classrooms on both sides of a wide

entry hall leading to an auditorium.

The existing brick building was

built as replacement in 1967. During

the following 54 years hundreds of

students were trained, taught, and

educated at Brooker Elementary

School.

Brooker Elementary School, as we

know it, closed it doors in 2021.

However, the community, alumni,

and other supporters have brought

the school back to life as Brooker

Community School.
